There was about 20-30 free seats around me... ironic thing was, a steward come and stood right in front of me( ive an aisle seat).. told him with a few choice words to sit down in one of the free seats or go away- my language might not have been this polite...
he soon fucked off, probably to tell someone to sit down or be thrown out...

Liverpool, Arsenal, Man United have all done same when stadiums were clearly not full

Scorch has it. Attendance is based on tickets sold not bodies through the gates. Given that the club sold 50k season tickets, you'll never see an attendance figure lower than that.

As mentioned- the official number includes tickets sold, but not necessarily used for that game.
I strongly doubt there were 56000 there, but the place looked 90% full from where I was- at least until about the 70 minute mark. If the cameras are set up opposite the West stand (I don't know if they are having never watched an OS match no telly) then I expect it could look less full than it is at times due to people wandering off to lounges and taking their seats late etc.
If they piped in noise, it would have been very noticeable yesterday as the atmosphere was so dire and it was so quiet after the first 30 minutes or so. I don't believe they are doing that. And the atmosphere is DEFINITELY reduced significantly by how poorly the team are playing at the moment. Huge difference between the Domzale/Bournemouth games and the last couple.
The team has to raise their game. Then the atmosphere will pick up massively.
